Special Mission Helicopters is set for take-off, offering a range of services for business, community groups and government organisations.

Based in southeast Queensland, Special Mission Helicopters will initially be available for:

• Emergency work
• Helicopter charters
• Aerial work, such as surveillance
• Helicopter pilot training
• Trial introduction flights

Special Mission Helicopters Head of Operations David Teed says, “This is an exciting time for us at Special Mission Helicopters and over the next 6 – 18 months the business will evolve to provide a comprehensive range of emergency response services, as well as the provision of training, aerial work, charters and other projects.”

Special Mission Helicopters is able to provide unique services including:

• Hoisting for emergency evacuations and extraction work, delivery of equipment into hostile zones
• Specialised aerial firefighting work such as firedetection, and reconnaissance and mapping
• From aerial ignition such as the dropping of incendiary devices to assist with back burns and fuel reduction campaigns
• Surveillance including search and rescue, sharksurveillance and covert operations

David adds, “We are in a unique position to provide a range of emergency responses in tight time frames. We have a team of on call first responders that can be deployed in a range of emergency scenarios.”
